Delivery Voyage April 2023

On January 3, 2022, we officially signed our previous sailboat, Catbird, over to her new owner. Although it was a painful farewell, we were very much looking forward to our new adventure awaiting us in Seattle. Over the following months, Adam would fly to Seattle on the weekends to prepare her for our voyage home down the coast. 

Fortunately, one of Adam's close rock-climbing buddies from back in the day currently resides in Seattle and was kind enough to assist during this time by not only helping physically but also allowing us to send packages to his house and personally mailing out parts for us to get returned... (thanks again, Rob!) 

This being my first long-distance sailing trip, I was completely overwhelmed by the idea of preparing food for the duration of our trip, but luckily Adam's mother saved the day! She met us in Seattle, where she rented an Airbnb containing a suitable kitchen to prepare 10+ days of frozen meals for four people.

When April finally came around, Adam had already made seven trips to Seattle to ensure Atlantean was prepared to transport us down the coast safely. It was a long-anticipated day; Adam checked the weather reports about three times a minute every minute the entire month leading up to our departure day.
